Now, I apply Loc Tite to all of the screws on my racks, fenders and other accessories.Justine Valinottihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10852069587181432102noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8356723782465446786.post-69700963446903924782011-05-12T09:18:51.650-04:002011-05-12T09:18:51.650-04:00OK, thanks for the reminder to go check the nuts h...OK, thanks for the reminder to go check the nuts holding the bolts that hold the rack on!John Romeo Alphahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01289456379789026152noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8356723782465446786.post-35996121919654533772011-05-11T23:21:43.407-04:002011-05-11T23:21:43.407-04:00I had something similar happen once. One of the rack bolts that holds the seat stay part to the rack came loose and allowed the rack to pivot back. It was before I had fenders, so it pivoted onto my rear WHEEL. I came to a sudden stop. Luckily for me, I was going slowly up a hill and not rocketing through an intersection at 17 mph. I still feel like I dodged a bullet with that one.

I rode home with the bag of kibble balanced on my handlebars. I'm glad you made it home with the pannier. I personally wouldn't have done that, but I tend to be overcautious.

Now I check the bolts for attached things regularly.Janice in GAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05642298460152468319noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8356723782465446786.post-17168739239589889712011-05-11T23:02:53.717-04:002011-05-11T23:02:53.717-04:00thank goodness for home-spun (street-spun?) tempor...thank goodness for home-spun (street-spun?) temporary fixes...Astroluc (Find me on Tumblr and Instagram @Astroluc)https://www.blogger.com/profile/02035410750985093621noreply@blogger.com
