Finally, about a month ago they put up "comment online" signs everywhere at this store, and so I did.
Not only did I get a nice email from the general manager promising to follow up, but yesterday when I was there:
Ta-Da! Back in action and doing double duty for customers!
Hey it's a small victory, but a victory nonetheless.
"...bike racks were always full."
ReplyDeleteHmm, if the car park isn't always full, a clever general manager might be led to realize it is time he can increase store traffic with added bike parking.
Just felt like guessing where: Star Market in Central Square?
ReplyDeleteYep, Central/ Kendall Star.
ReplyDeleteSteve, I've been trying to make this argument at Trader Joe's, which has a really good bike rack that is always full, and an awful wheelbender type which is never used. I made the argument that they could fit probably 20 bikes in the space that one car takes up, and that it could be seasonal, they could move it out of a car spot in the fall if they found it wasn't being filled.
All right! Congratulations on the bike parking victory! I had one recently as well: http://carfreepvd.wordpress.com/2011/07/08/behold-the-power-of-my-blog/
ReplyDeleteI've yet to have to lock my bike anywhere, because I'm paranoid and also no where I need to go has a bike rack (so far). Very irritating! http://southernbikingbelle.wordpress.com/
